Baptism

Your baptism says to the world "I am a Christ-follower!"

The purpose and meaning of "Baptism"

The word "baptism" means "to be identified with". When you are baptized, you identify or inseparably associate yourself with Jesus Christ. By being immersed in the water, you picture what has happened to you; you were spiritually dead. But when you are lifted up out of the water, it is symbolic of the new life you now have in Christ Jesus. You are dead to your old life, habits and ways and now walk in the way that pleases and obeys Jesus Christ (Romans 6:4-7).

How to be baptized

The first step to baptism is to attend our Baptism Class. This class is well worth the two-hour time commitment, as you will learn about what the Bible teaches about baptism, and Grandview's baptism process. The class will help you to write your "God Story"; the story of what God is doing in your life right now.

Contact Doug Martin to find out when the next Baptism Class is scheduled.

For further details about baptism read Baptism at Grandview. We look forward to seeing you at the Baptism Class!
