Philosophy of Volunteerism at Grandview Baptist Church
Grandview's Core Values:
Worshiping, Learning, Belonging, Caring, Serving and Reaching

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our ministry and mission at Grandview.

As Christ followers, we are each called to serve.   Our volunteers serve as the “hands and feet” of Jesus, as they willingly use their unique gifts and talents to minister to all ages, genders and various special needs.

The willing utilization of individual passions and gifts result in health, growth, healing and encouragement that could not be accomplished without efforts of the many members serving one another in the church and beyond the church.

Each volunteer is encouraged to find their place to use their unique gift to impact others; be it through the creative arts, teaching, hospitality, visiting, giving, building relationships, administrative support, helping behind the scenes, partnering with community needs or short-term local or global mission projects.

Without our many faithful servants Grandview could not accomplish its mission and the local community would miss many blessings which are achieved from our shared partnership.

We recognize volunteers as a vital part of our Human Resources team and are committed to standards which ensure successful integration of volunteers for the benefit of both the church and the volunteers

In August 2009 Grandview Elders Board officially adopted The Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement:

"That the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement be adopted by Grandview Baptist Church as an integral part of our ministry structure, demonstrating our commitment  to standards which ensure successful integration of volunteers for the benefit of both the church and the volunteers.”

This code of 12 Best Practices Standards for the involvement of volunteers within an organization can be viewed on our website:   The Canadian Code
