As a cluster we would like to impact those in Haiti by purchasing items for Relief Kits - similar to the "family kits" handed out by our Uganda team. The Mennonite Central Committee has put together a list of needed items. You and your family may purchase any of the items listed below, or enough to complete an entire kit or a few if you wish! Anne Guenther has volunteered to collect these items at her home until Friday, February 12, 2010. Anne and her family are going to chart how many kits we as a cluster can collect. Our goal is 100 kits!!
Below is a list of items needed:
Contents of one Relief Kit (NEW items only)
* 4 large bars of bath soap (leave in wrapping)
* 1 plastic bottle shampoo (380-710 ml / 13-24 oz; place bottle in a re-sealable plastic bag)
* 4 large bars laundry soap (preferred brands: Fels Naptha, Sunlight, or Zote)
* 1 squeeze-tube toothpaste (minimum 130 ml / 6 oz; leave in box)
* 4 adult-size toothbrushes (leave in packaging)
* 4 bath towels (medium weight, dark or bright colours)
* 2 wide tooth combs (15-20 cm / 6-8")
* 1 fingernail clipper
* 1 box adhesive bandages (minimum 40, assorted)
* 1 package sanitary pads (18-24 thin maxi)
Please limit your generosity to the items listed. MCC will re-pack each kit into new 5-gallon plastic pails, ready to be shipped and distributed.
Please put your items in a bag or box and contact Anne for drop off:
